|
|
We recently got our hands on a Cintiq tablet and were therefore able to fix the calibration and cursor displacement problem some people were having.
If you have a Tablet PC or a Cintiq like the 21UX _and_ are having trouble with PAP's cursor being off, please download and install the latest version here:
http://www.plasticanimationpaper.dk/files/pap_v4_0beta.exe
Let us know if you have any further problems. _________________ --

On my tablet PC it seems a lot better.. in the center of the screen the crosshairs and the drawn line match up exactly, but at the edges of the screen there is still a little bit of offset. In the upper left of the screen the drawn line is a few pixels down and to the right of the crosshairs, and in the lower right of the screen the drawn line is up and to the left by a few pixels from the center of the crosshairs. The crosshairs are tracking the pen tip exactly, so it's the drawn line that is not matching up as far as I can see.
hope this helps....... thanks for all the hard work you guys are putting into this!!
I also notice that you got the CPU usage to drop way down when the program is inactive. Thanks for doing that! I notice that if I leave my cursor over the PAP window it still wants to use about 30% of my CPU. There also is a jump in CPU usage every 6 or 7 seconds up to about 12%
I notice that in sketchbook pro when I stop moving the cursor it disappears after a short time and the CPU usage will drop down to 2% when it does.
(the reason I bring this up is for using PAP while running on battery power. The quicker it cycles down to idle, the longer I can go before needing to recharge)
cheers,

Darrell,
What kind of Tablet PC do you have? When you delete C:\windows\system32\tablet.dat and reboot is the cursor still off?
Thanks,

Have you checked with other pressure sensitive apps?
When I was working with the cintiq, the crosshairs would sometimes (even after a calibration) be a little offset from the pen tip at the corners, but the line ended up being dead center of the crosshairs in PAP across the whole screen.
I'll need the hardware if I'm to correct this further I'm afraid - I think I'll wait for some more Tablet PC reports.
By the way, I believe there are new Wacom drivers on their way, I spoke to a Wacom developer about this, so you may try those once they're released. _________________ --

I noticed on my Gateway M275 Tablet that same offset thing happens. I think that it's just part of the way Tablet PCs work unfortunately. It's the same in other drawing apps. If you have the Pro edition, just use the hand tool to move around the parts you're working on to avoid that mess. It's a workaround at best, but it's something.
Cheers guys! |

Are you using the latest driver for your Cintiq 12WX?
Wacom released a new update for their driver on January 21st 2010. I lifted this from their site:
Driver 6.1.3-5 for USB Tablets on Windows 7, Vista & XP (32 & 64 bit)
Release Date: Jan. 21, 2010
Size: 13.6MB
http://www.wacom.com/downloads/driver-detail.php?id=208
If that doesn't fix your problem, there is a temporary workaround by the PAP crew, which involves resetting your wacom tablet preferences and then specifying an offset compensation in a text file within the PAP program folder:
http://www.plasticanimationpaper.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1829
However, all this offset/compensation workaround is a pretty old situation, we're all hoping the PAP crew fix it properly in the software so we can retain the fully calibrated functionality of our tablet preferences AND enjoy accurate drawing in PAP:
http://www.plasticanimationpaper.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1854
I use applications like ArtRage3 and PainterXI on my Cintiq and they work excellent with calibrated prefs. It's a bummer to have to reset and offset every time I go into PAP. _________________ http://rafianimates.co.uk/ |
