Besides being an awesome animator Jason is also a mentor at Animation Mentor. Many of us really wish there was an educational or more affordable version of PAP. We badly need the xsheet to really make use of PAP for our assignments but the huge price gap between shareware and broadcast is so big. Any chance of a version in the $100 range that includes xsheet?

BTW, really love the program. I honestly think it is one of the smartest out there with an interface I wish many other programs would look at and emulate. It is not that I think PAP isn't worth the money but more that since most of us are students we can't really afford it. Keep up the great work Niels!!!

Hi there!

Thanks for your comments.

You will be happy to know that we have special discount deals with several animation schools - Animation Mentor included! Also I can let you know that we are spawning a new edition policy for our next release - the 4.0. Then you'll have the choice of these three editions of PAP:

    PAP:Free
    PAP:Home
    PAP:Pro

I can reviel that, when you include your Animation Mentor discount, you will be able afford PAP:Home within your price range! PAP:Home will have everything that the 3.1 PAP:Broadcast had and more. Smile

We expect to release the 4.0 for Windows, Linux and Mac in about two months from now. Look forward to it!! It is going to be an apsolutely great release - and our best testet so far!

Hmmm, that was me up above, for some reason I wasn't logged in. Thanks again Niels. A few of the mentors are big fans of PAP and many of us use it for our initial planning for our assignments. Great news!

It's great to hear that a Mac version is on it's way! I recently switched over to a powerbook and miss not having access to PAP. I was using the shareware version and I'm very interested in purchasing either the home version or the pro one. I'm looking at Mirage as well but I'd rather go with PAP. I'm hoping that the Mac version will be out soon. I'm in the Animation Mentor program and used the software for planning out my shots. Anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting the Mac version. Any ideas on when it'll be released? Thanks and keep up the great work!

We are a little reluctant about giving out exact dates for the release. We are almost finished with the new functionality of the 4.0, but still need to test everything in detail. So it will not be long... (sorry about the wague answer!)
